Nautilus

For Christmas 1988 I was given a box camera, two rolls of film and a plastic lily. I was also given a nautilus shell. It gleamed a pure sensual white, an object demanding to be photographed!

I decided to use my new (second hand) box camera. The resultant image was ‘Nautilus’no.1.Intrigued by the image, and eager to make more I decided to work with the nautilus on 5x4.I purchased another shell and began to photograph. Then by chance I read an  article which stated that the nautilus was facing extinction, mainly  because of purchases of the shell due to its decorative qualities.

I decided that I must stop, hence the few images in this section.
